Richard B. Cheney, an accomplished public servant and businessman, is the vice-president. Cheney is well-known on Washington's political scene. George W. Bush who is set to become the next President of the U.S. will be Cheney's fourth. Bush selected Cheney on July 20, 2000 to be his vice-presidential running mate commenting on Cheney's wisdom and judgment. Dick Cheney was a chief of Staff to Presidents, worked for the United States Congress as Secretary of Defense and served the country in a variety of positions. Cheney is a man with integrity, who has the respect of all Republicans as well as Democrats. Cheney believes that his job in the Bush Administration is to act as a candid but discrete advisor. Cheney said that when he decided to accept the Republican nomination for vice president Cheney was looking forward to working with a president who will work with all parties to achieve goals and will cooperate with opposition members in trust and respect. Richard Bruce Cheney (born January 30th 1941) was the son Richard Herbert Cheney. His mother, Marjorie Lauraine Dickey had been wed to Richard Herbert Cheney for over thirty years. In the age of thirteen Richard and his family relocated out of Nebraska and moved to Casper in the state of Casper where his father was head of Casper's U.S. Department of Agriculture local soil conservation district.
