Julia Fiona Roberts, born on October 28, 1967, at Atlanta in the United States to Betty Lou Bredemus & Walter Grady Roberts. Her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts, a farmer, was the first Roberts to move to Atlanta. Her father took keen interest from a young age in stage. While being a student at Emory University, he performed in a variety of productions in Atlanta. In 1953, he enlisted in the Air Force, and was stationed in Biloxi in Mississippi acted in an production along with Betty Lou Bredemus. The couple got married in 1955 and the couple's first child Eric Anthony was born in 1956. Walter was enrolled in Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In 1957 they were discharged from the air force and Walter began his studies at Tulane University. Walter started working at Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio in 1960. Walter and Betty Lou started production in 1964 for the children's local Saturday morning television show Bum Bum and His Buddies, which they funded themselves. In 1964, Walter and Betty Lou established their own organization called the Actors and Writers Workshop. The organization lasted for a total of 6 years. Within this period, they also had two kids Lelisa (called Lisa) Billingsley in 1965 and Julia (called Julie) in 1967.
