Laura Linney is an American actor, who became famous for her portrayal of strong but vulnerable characters. Her father was an acclaimed writer, however Linney was raised as an all-only child by her single-mother and nurse. Through the summer months and with her father Linney discovered a love for the theatre. She eventually studied acting first through Brown University then at Juilliard School. After two years of the graduation, she began her Broadway career. Two years later, in the world of television. Over the past few years, she's appeared in numerous TV productions, films and stage plays.
