Jenna Fischer is best known for her character Pam Beesly on the acclaimed television show The Office, for which she was awarded the Emmy nomination for the Best Supporting Actress and two SAG Awards for Outstanding Performance from An Ensemble Comedy.
Her birthplace and childhood was in Fort Wayne in Indiana. Jenna saw her mother, Anne, perform in the church when she was young, which instilled a love of theater and performance.
Theater actress with training, Fischer returned to her home base after finishing The Office. She was a part of the Off-Broadway production Reasons to be Happy, written and directed by Neil LaBute and co-starring Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb, and Fred Weller. In the following play, she was in Steve Martin's newest play Meteor Shower. It was an absurdist comedic piece opposite Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg and ran for record-breaking time at Old Globe Theatre.
The Office star Angela Kinsey's best friend in real life and Fischer began the Office Ladies podcast, on Earwolf at the end of October the year 2019. The show quickly gained popularity. Every week it ranked within the Top Ten in global downloads, with over 200 million downloaded in the initial two years. In the beginning of January, 2021, Office Ladies won iHeart Radio's Podcast of the Year award.
She's written two books: The Actor's Life, a Survival Guide in which she describes her journey to Hollywood as an actor in the field as well as Office BFF's, Tales of The Office from Two Best Friends that Were There a memoir of the best friendship they had as well as their experience on The Office.
